A Big Week for Etsy Patrons

It's been a big week for Etsy Patrons. We had a lot of success with our weekly "Make Someone's Day" thread, where we discovered dozens of new shops and celebrated their first sales. Phippsart, the originator of "Make Someone's Day", opened the thread up this week to shops with under five sales. So it was fun, and a little more challenging, to discover shops trying to get over the hump of their first few sales. Below are a few Undiscovered artists from "Make Someone's Day".

We started our team thread in the Teams section of Etsy, called Etsy Patrons - Let's Go Shop! It's located here: http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=5686329 and it will be the forum home of Etsy Patrons, where we will discuss the purchases we've made, the great shops we've found, and our experiences as Patrons of Etsy.

We have a number of new members this week, as we introduce the idea of buyers as Team members... all of our new members this week are "buyers-only" and we look forward to their perspective on our mission of promoting Etsy artists.

Are You an Etsy Buyer in Search of a Team?

As an Etsy buyer, do you often feel like you're on the outside looking in? Last night in the forum, the subject of Etsy Teams came up. And I couldn't help but wonder... are there Teams that welcome buyers as well as sellers? The discussion that followed is here: http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=5683344

There are many different Etsy Teams (often called "Street Teams" because they were started with the idea of getting local Etsians together), the list is here: http://team.etsy.com/teams.html

Being on a Team can be great fun. It gives you the opportunity to connect with other Etsians who share your interests and join in common goals to promote your particular art, craft or location.

So if you're a "buyer-only", consider getting more involved and join a Team. Etsy Patrons encourages buyers to join (we are here: http://team.etsy.com/viewteam.php?id=332 ), and if the discussion above is any indication, many other Teams would as well. Hopefully Etsy will soon mark the Teams on the Teams Profile page to indicate which accepts "buyers-only", but in the meantime if you see one that interests you, send a convo to the Team leader. Chances are, they'd love to have you!

Etsy Patrons has a New Banner!

Thanks to TheDaintyDragonfly, one of our members, Etsy Patrons has a new banner. The Dainty one selected the previously Undiscovered TallisTreasures to design the banner you see above, and Etsy Patrons was her very first... well, Patron! We are all thrilled and can't wait to see the new banner on our Team page soon. Thanks so much to TallisTreasures for an amazing banner and design experience!

New Etsy Patrons Treasury is Live!

EtsyPatrons Treasury Makes It to Hottest on Etsy!

Our "Fabulous & Undiscovered" treasury (see photo below) became the hottest treasury on etsy today! That really *is* fabulous because it means the maximum number of people were exposed to the work of these new etsians. And four of the artists had their day made by making a sale! The treasury is expiring but we're looking forward to many more successful EtsyPatrons treasuries in the future!

Make Someone's Day, Thursday June 19th
